Biography
Nik Bärtsch, born 1971 in Zurich, is a pianist, composer and producer. After studying piano at the Zurich University of the Arts, he studied philosophy, linguistics and musicology at the University of Zurich. With the Zen funk quartet Ronin and the music ritual group Mobile he has created a completely independent music between jazz, funk and minimal music. While he has been playing with Ronin weekly on Mondays at his club Exil for over ten years and has already toured in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa, the acoustic formation Mobile mainly performs in the context of installations.
