Trauffer became known as the singer of the Bernese band Airbäg, which produced four chart albums between 1997 and 2005. The band then disbanded. Music always remained a part of his life and in 2008 Trauffer launched his solo career with his debut album Pallanza. With the follow-up albums Dr Heimat z’lieb (2010) and Fischer & Jäger (2013), he was able to build on his earlier band successes. The album Fischer & Jäger achieved gold status. Alpentainer followed in 2014, which went platinum. The album Heiterefahne was released in 2016 and went double platinum.
In 2011, Marc A. Trauffer bought the wooden toy factory (Trauffer Holzspielwaren) from his father and uncle, but has been running it as managing director since 2008. In June 2022, he also opened the Bretterhotel with restaurant in Hofstetten near Brienz.
